Gif restarts with every character of alt text typed

When entering alt text for an animated gif, the gif begins replaying from the first frame every time the alt text changes, including character by character as I type. This happens for both the tiny selector button and the full-sized gif behind the overlay. The effect is jerky and distracting, especially with a lower frame rate animation.
